A new trailer and image have been released for the first part of Kyoto Animation's Free! Iwatobi Swim Club Series
The beloved swimming anime is free! Iwatobi Swim Club will soon be making its last lap around the pool, and Kyoto Animation has released a new trailer and image from the first part of the finale to get fans excited about the conclusion.
Kyoto Animation has uploaded the new teaser to the company's official YouTube account. The teaser shows Haruka preparing to compete in the world swimming tournament in Australia, which was announced in the anime's third season, Free: Dive to the Future. Billed as the "final chapter" for the guys at the Iwatobi Swim Club, The Final Stroke will premiere in two parts, the first half opening in Japan on September 17 and ending in April 2022. Both films will be directed by Eisaku. Kawanami, who completed the final season of Free! managed. anime and some of the other films in the franchise. The film will also feature a new song by Japanese rock group OLDCODEX, which features Makoto's voice actor Tatsuhisa Suzuki.
Free! Iwatobi Swim Club is based on the light novel High Speed. by Koji Oji and is one of Kyoto Animation's most successful franchises. The anime's first season was released in 2013 and was followed by a second and third season respectively in 2014 and 2018. The two parts of The Final Stroke will be the fifth and sixth film in the franchise; Previous theatrical releases include three compilation films chronicling the events of the television series with new content, as well as a prequel film. The series tells the story of a group of teenagers who rediscover their love for competitive swimming and decide to revive their abandoned high school swim club.
